Holy crap, double congratulations. Also, I resent Michiko (and grad students everywhere) for ruining the beautiful word limn, here used appropriately.
Posted by max at September 7, 2007 11:11 AMI agree with Max's first sentence. There certainly is a lot that goes unmentioned on your blog. Good luck with that contest. Sooner or later they're going to ask you to draw something.
Posted by Kathy at September 8, 2007 4:53 AMMichiko? As in Kakutani? I'm afraid I missed that reference. Limn is indeed a beautiful word but it has nothing to do with limnology, strangely.
As for the "contest", it would be a horrible mess if I was asked to produce anything tangible out of my fantasy garden design. Sometimes sensibility overtakes reason??
Posted by briggs at September 8, 2007 3:25 PMOMG!!! I don't know which is more exciting - your marriage or being a finalist in the contest! I'll be watching to see how this turns out. That is just the coolest thing ever and I'd be walking on air half the time and pins and needles the other. That's just fabulous. Congratulations!!!
Posted by Kylee at September 10, 2007 8:15 AMCongratulations! Very very exciting.
Posted by xifer at September 12, 2007 11:54 AMHuh, I didn't know about limnology! Comes from the Greek for lake, not the Latin for threshold. Kakutani is generally held to be the chief abuser, or at least the agent zero of limn abuse:
