To win in 2004, the Democrats must return to their roots, rather than continue their recent insipid balancing act, an act that has turned them into spineless, lukewarm Republicans.
But being true Democrats does not mean caving in to left-wing wackos. The Democrats should avoid the excesses of the far left in the same way the Republicans should avoid the excesses of the far right.
