Shortly after Bush’s big address to congress last year a week and a half after 9/11, I did this “rewrite” of his speech. My intent was to show a completely different way we might have responded to the attacks on us, a completely different way that our nation might some day be in this world.
It’s one year later, and nothing seems to have changed; we’re preparing to go to war again, and for largely the same reasons, ostensible and actual, as before.
