I was reflecting on the calumnies being heaped on civil servants by professional grifters on the right. Electoral-vote.com this morning shared several comments from television, online, and elected hatemongers suggesting that people who work for the government are stealing taxpayer dollars and producing nothing. (No comment about Georgia congresspeople taking taxpayer dollars to spread lies and stir up hatred.)
You see this same ignorant projection from the lazy accidental billionaire who amused the late night hosts and wasted tens if not hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars yesterday forcing public servants to jump through his drug-addled hoops.

As his scheme bounced back on him in a storm of nationwide mockery, he apparently tried to save face by dribbling out more half-baked nonsense, claiming the whole thing was just a test to see if the the employees really exist, or log into our computers, or whatever. His partner / assistant, the elected president echoed the same nonsense informed by the only life he’s ever know, that of a lazy self-indulgent slacker, wondering if federal employees are spending their days golfing. Perhaps he imagines we all live at golf motels as well?
So, the moron robbing our private data tried to claim that the email nonsense was just a test of whether we are really working and responsive to our equipment. What this mainly tells me is that our new DOGE staff don’t appear to be fully onboarded yet. If they were, they would realize that every single federal employee gets a daily email reminder to check in via a Google form and indicate whether we are teleworking, reporting to an office, on leave, or otherwise traveling. We do this every work day and we get nagging reminders if we do not.
Are these new appointees getting the email? Are they checking in? If they are, then they would realize that we already have a process (it started during Covid) to verify that everyone is alive, responsive, and on the job.
The entire performative spasm was nothing more than social media content and a massive waste of time, energy, and money. Part of the side show to keep you distracted as the bust-out continues.
Here’s a suggestion for those wankers: Why not add a “Resign” option to the daily check-in form?
