The first three weeks on a new job, with the ongoing community work supporting other 18F alumni, trying to finish up the website for my record before it comes out next month and get the Kickstarter campaign set up to fund the vinyl version, all within the wild national context we’re all bobbing around in these days: I won’t lie. It’s been a lot.
I was getting so hyped up with my brain shifting context constantly and trying to learn a whole new government agency and fit into a new small company and just basically all the wheels turning that I was starting to accumulate a sleep debt.

This past weekend I managed to catch up on that sleep and meanwhile I’ve been getting more of a grip on the new job and keeping up reasonably well with all my other commitments, including things like trying to write here every day, continuing to work on new songs and other writing projects, helping launch a new international civic tech entity, and while I wouldn’t yet set I have found my new groove, it does all seem to be calming down just enough that I don’t feel quite so frantic this week.
Which is a relief.
