Reading the Grateful Dead

Christian contributed an essay to this volume entitled “And I Done Some Time”: Bobby Petersen and the Grateful Dead, on the life and times of the obscure Beat poet, minor Grateful Dead lyricist, and cultural mentor of Phil Lesh. This article began life as a paper at the 1998 meeting of the Dead scholars caucus at the Southwest/Texas Popular Culture Association conference in Albuquerque.
