Reverse Cowgirl rides off into the sunset.

The Merry Pranksters had a slogan, or actually, they had several slogans, but the one I’m thinking of right now is “Nothing lasts.” I’m a great believer in lifecycles. Just about everything on this planet – even phenomena – gets born, lives, and then dies. Blogs are no excepts.
Some weblogs end by default. Sometimes the author literally dies, leaving a cobweb behind. Sometimes blogs are deliberately abandoned or stopped. In this case Susannah Breslin appears to have completely removed her blog, so it’s not just over in the sense of no new entries but it’s, like, gone, man.
I’m going to miss all the traffic she sent my way in the last year.
Looks like I’m going to have to find all my links to Salon blog number 1437 and replace them with archival links from the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. Thought you could get away easily, Kowgirl? Think again… MUAHAHAHHA.
(OK, I’m probably too busy/lazy to bother doing this anytime soon, but it’s possible in principle.)
Her weblog will be missed. It really deserves an obituary. I look forward to buying her books and reading her work in dead-tree form real soon now.

xian: When I was compiling the monthly Salon stats Cowgirl had just posted a message complaining that the appearance of her blog was all messed up. At that point all of the graphics links were broken. So it’s likely that this is a technical problem (there seem to have a LOT of them lately — is someone sabotaging Salon?) rather than an abrupt end to the Cowgirl.
