We got back into the studio (at last!) on October 21, 2024, as “Down to the Mountain” completed its evolution from string-band ditty to secular gospel roof-raiser.

We met for a rare evening recording session at Goody Sound to get these harmony vocals added to “Down to the Mountain.”
Lorna Kollmeyer, Sarah Gronquist, and Amyellyn Kessler (who have their own group, Triage) totally nailed the sound the arrangement was crying out for. I hope you agree!
This rough mix was produced by David Gans and engineer Jeremy Goody, and also features Dan Brodnitz on grand piano, Javier Navarrette on percussion, David on guitar and baritone guitar, Myles Boisen on lap steel guitar, Joe Craven on fiddle, and myself on ukulele and vocals:
