It’s time to close

Almost caught up now. We managed two mixing sessions last month (produced by David Gans and recording and mixing engineer Jeremy Goody at Goody Sound Studio). The first was on Saturday, January 4, 2025.

Dirty Ol’ Sunshine

We revisited the rough mix of “Dirty Ol’ Sunshine” which we last touched in June of 2023 (!), and I think we’re really getting it dialed in?

Memory Lane

On Saturday we also made the preliminary mix for “Memory Lane” (lyrics by Peter K. Hirsch):

Bill Cassel helped arrange this one. Personnel are Jeremy on bass, Joe Craven on fiddle and percussion (mouth hat and equipment case), and myself on ukuleles and vocals.

The Ghost Door

The third song we mixed in this session is “The Ghost Door,” for which we shortened the instrumental break by a few bars and compressed my voice, among other things:

Personnel on this are David Gans and Robert Wade on acoustic guitars, Myles Boisen on pedal steel guitar, Joe Kyle Jr. on upright bass, Joe Craven on percussion, and myself on ukuleles and vocals.

Some Other Time

We also revisited “Some Other Time” to tweak a few things and juice the ukulele solo a tad:

This has Robert Wade on guitar and backing vocals, Bill Cassel on bass and backing vocals, Dan Brodnitz on keyboard and backing vocals, John Hanes on drums, and myself on lead vocals and electric ukulele.

From that title I thought you were about to announce a release date. No pressure. But the world is waiting.
