As I’ve gotten older like everyone else I have noticed how time speeds up. Each new days is a smaller fraction of your life than the previous one. A summer that lasted a lifetime when you were nine passes in the blink of an eye when you are 50.
But there is a positive side! This enables us to live in a longer now. I can make plans and work on things that may take years or in some cases (such as teaching myself to play and eventually write music) decades.
Roughly two years ago I started recording an album.
Exactly one year ago we had made captured rough mixes of basic tracks for all twelve songs on the record (and I only had nine and part of a new one when we started the recording process).
Fast forward to today and we’ve got nine preliminary mixes done and I expect to get the other three mixed this coming month.
After that it’s final mixes, mastering, and release!
