Made one dream come true earlier this month at the record release party for Layers of Meta’s debut album, No One Does It Solo Only.
High: Playing my songs with a crack band
Low: Not enough time to properly sound check
High: Support of friends and family
Low: Not making sure Bob’s guitar and all the vocal mics and monitors were working properly
High: The audio (mix of board and room sound) from the show is now available on Archive.org
Low: The mix is imperfect (see above) and my vocals and uke amp are overloud, my mic hot
High: We might overdub some parts and mix a proper live album from the show
Low: I got behind in life otherwise doing this
High: The band wants to play more
Low: I’m not sure how much gigging I have in me
High: If we play again I don’t also have to organize a party and we’ll have time to soundcheck and it won’t be my first goat rodeo again
Low: Waiting on that video!
High: We can use any overdubbed audio with the video
Low: Running out of downsides here
High: Growing musical possibilities, songwriting collaboration, and playing possibilities
Low: Seriously, scaling the barrel now
High: Other creative projects just waiting to pop off
Low: I need to think about other people more than myself
High: Nicholas’s amazing poster
